Our chapter was founded in 1983 by a small group of women dedicated to serving children in need. Today we have grown our volunteer membership to 150 and we continue to strive to meet the ever growing needs of our community. Many of our members are Catholic, but we welcome members of all religions.
Our Vision is to serve impoverished children or those with special needs in Northern Michigan.
Our Mission is to serve the needs of infants and children in Northern Michigan, without prejudice, through the personal service of our membership, in the love and spirit of the Christ Child. Our ecumenical chapter membership is made up of compassionate and actively engaged volunteers assisting children requiring clothing, food, education support, as well as those families needing short-term financial aid for their child. Funding for our mission is derived from chapter fund-raising activities, grants, and generous donors.
Over the years, we have engaged in many service projects including providing Layettes of newborn essentials (our signature project), backpacks of educational materials, Showers of Love supplying clothing, coats, shoes, and basic grooming supplies for school children, Christmas parties and gifts, tutoring for elementary school children, food for impoverished families during Thanksgiving and Christmas, camp supplies and family meals for Camp Quality Michigan kids with cancer, other school scholarships, and many more.
